

Before laying the flooring, concrete is given a diamond grind, with dust extraction, and patch repaired using fibreglass.
SikaFloor-PurCem-21 a heavy-duty self-levelling polyurethane screed applied with a hard-wearing top coat of Sika-Purcem-31, was the main flooring used to cover the tower & exterior flooring.
It's great in withstanding chemical spills in milk products and it is slip-resistant.
Flooring is given fume extracted expansion cuts and filled with SikaFlex Pro-3, a polyurethane sealant.
Coving up the walls is formed with SikaFloor-91, a heavy-duty epoxy resin, and top coated with Sika-PurCem-31. A bevelled edge at top of coving is formed and sealed with SikaFlex Pro-3. This creates a smooth transition from wall to floor and eliminates areas where dust can settle. Ideal for hygiene zones.
SikaCor VEL a vinyl ester resin based laminate was used in chemical storage bunds. Due to its even greater chemical resistance.

The Olam Food Ingredients dryer tower was a major project for us. The tower has 5 floors from ground to 27m high. Exterior ancillary areas consist of a wood-chip boiler, milk silo pad, services pad and tanker reception. Our flooring scope totalled to over 3000sqm across these areas.
